The "Bajillion Dollar Yankees" are coming to town this weekend and it has the blogosphere buzzing... here are some tid-bits:
There's lots of talk about Mark Teixeira and how badly he will get booed when he walks into Fenway this weekend. Cyn at Toeing The Rubber thinks Teixeira might want to focus on his .222 BA and not the potential boos, Extra Bases posted one fans suggestion that we all give him the slient treatment, so that we don't stroke his ego, and Surviving Grady wants the Fenway Faithful to boo so loud that the people in Dedahm cover their ears and go running for cover from the all the noise.
Tex is expecting the boos and says it helps him get locked in:
"This is one of the greatest rivalries in sports. It's great for baseball and it will always be great for baseball. If anything, the energy that comes from the fans being into it locks you in."
Personally, I think it would be creepy to hear crickets in Fenway during a Sox v Yanks game... but it won't happen. And we can't afford to half-ass this people, so I say bring your megaphones, your bongo drums and your loudest buddy to the game and we'll see if Teixeira gets locked in or pees his pants.

Big Papi let Joba Chamberlain know that winning games will earn him more respect that throwing at Kevin Youkilis' head...
"None of that, man -- just play the game the way it's supposed to be, and that's about it," Ortiz said, referring to Chamberlain.
"This is a guy, as good as he is, the next step for him will be to earn respect from everybody in the league. He's not a bad guy, but when things like that happen, people get the wrong idea."
After getting shellacked by Cleveland in his last outing (5 ER, 5 BB, 6 H, 4.2 IP), I think Joba will be focused on throwing strikes... but you never know.

Lastly, I like to point out that the Red Sox have won seven straight games, outscoring their opponents 55 to 20 and averaging 7.8 runs per game. Thats good news, but the Yankees aren't messing around. With Chien Ming Wang struggling, they've adjusted their rotation for this series and the Sox will face Burnett, who has never lost to the Sox in eight chances, on Saturday and Pettitte, who is 16-8 in his career vs. Boston, on Sunday.
Bottom Line: The Red Sox can set the tone tonight by beating up on Joba.
